I used this to fit a Dimply fire into a rock faced surround so left an awkward gap all round of about 4 cm. Worked perfectly because it is quite flexible and easy to cut to size. It does have some small surface creases, not that noticeable or important to me. So to me this was a perfect solution.

pros- The self-adhesive back makes skirting board exceedingly simple to install. There is no need for nails or additional tools, just simply peel and stick. The material is extremely flexible, so suitable for curving edges and corners. The material feels sturdy and scratch-resistant, would be beneficial in high-traffic areas. The colour is grey, I think I would prefer white. It also appears to be water resistant, which is ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, also easy to clean and keep dust free. This solution is far more cheap than typical wood or MDF skirting boards. cons- While the adhesive adheres effectively to smooth surfaces, it struggled with slightly textured walls.

It did have some surface marking on arrival, but nothing that bad, although I would prefer it didn’t. It was super easy to work with and perfect for the area I was using it in. Would definitely be buying again. It’s a fantastic quick and easy solution and looks great!

Storystore Flexible Skirting Board This vinyl, flexible skirting appears to be made of robust material. It is flexible, but not enough to bend around an inverted 90-degree angle (corner). I suspect you would need to cut it and use a sealant in the corners. The grey version is coloured exactly as pictured. The adhesive is strong enough to stick to a flat surface. I believe this will be suitable for bathrooms as it is waterproof. It looks nice on the wall and covers minor defects without showing through. At 3 metres for £21, it's a project that might get expensive. However, this skirting does not need the added costs of wood treatment/paints, etc. Overall, this is good quality, flexible skirting.
